My journey with Appletree began when I cycled around the world in 1999. Having experienced the challenge of turning vision into reality, I knew that my life would be about encouraging others to do the same. A few years later I survived the tsunami which struck Thailand. It taught me how suddenly life can change. Both experiences strengthened my desire to influence others at a level which would make a real difference.
Appletree is where I get to do just that. Whats more it has provided the opportunity to work with individuals, teams and entire organisations across a wide range of industries in the South Africa over the past 7 years. What a privilege!
My love for crossing borders has seen me travel internationally hunting down trends and insight to add to the insights and material with which I work. I believe in the power of story and so share insights using the metaphors I have experiences within the stories I have lived and will continue to live as I livelifenow.
I am inspired by stories, new ideas, watching people, fresh insight and risk. That and Savannah Dry adverts!
I am passionate about travel (especially in the 3rd world), unity, the ocean and bringing people together to make something happen!
What I love most about my work is that I love my work. It’s the challenge of moving through chaos to reach breakthrough & new possibilities.
What I love most about living in SA is the colour, the innuendo’s, our diverse humour (go to a cricket game!) and the endless possibilities to explore.
I share my home with my beautiful wife Toni!
I listen to what makes up a piece of music or a symphony of sound, any sound. It’s the detail that I love.
I read parts of books for some reason and not the whole thing! Books I finish in a heartbeat belong to Rob Bell & Clive Cussler and to those that write about what inspires me.
